IFA 2014: HTC Desire 820, Phablet mid-range 64-bit

This large public Phablet is the first of its kind to switch to a 64-bit platform. The performance should be good, but the screen is not defined.

Simple marketing argument or prerequisite as Apple has supported since the launch of the iPhone 5S, in all cases the mobile world going slowly to 64-bit processors and the new HTC Desire 820 is the first model midrange to be so equipped such technology.

HTC Desire 820 smartphones, Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615-8 cores and 2 GB RAM processor, the Desire 820 wants to be a powerful smartphone but not too expensive - well it will be seen, HTC still not communicating the price of its terminal.

Powerful processor but low resolution screen

The 64-bit processor is not a classic 4-core but octocore - eight cores - which functions as a dual quad core CPU: 4 cores at 1.5 GHz for powerful tasks and quad-core 1 GHz for menial tasks . The advantage of this second "quad-core" being reduced energy consumption compared to the other four most powerful hearts.

With such a processor, HTC wants to try to combine power and autonomy. And to be sure to be in the nails, HTC has not included a Full HD panel but a mere 720p HD slab less energy. The downside: with a large slab of 5.5 inches, the Desire 820 is a Phablet with rather low
image resolution.

No super-pixel to the HTC One M8 on this terminal but a conventional CMOS BSI sensor equipped with a 13 megapixel wide-angle 28mm optical aperture of f / 2.2 - the photo results could be good.

The front camera HTC Desire 820, has also been treated since it displays an 8 megapixel sensor (which is not bad). His side, the partition looks not bad either with, as on the high end of the range of the brand, share front speakers on either side of the screen.
The price of the HTC Desire 820 has not yet been announced but it is expected to arrive in France in the first quarter 2015.
